For my last day in Seattle, I explore Fremont to find their Google office, famous Troll-under-the-bridge, and cider breweries, then settle into a hostel AirBnB near the University of Washington to get some rest.

There I meet Brian-from-South-Carolina, who just finished his cross country drive. Sitting atop the roof as the sun goes down, he shares the story of his current journey. His girlfriend and him split up when she moved back to the UK and he enrolled for UoW's architecture program.

But after days of driving alone with his thoughts and stops along the way to soul-search with friends and strangers alike, he realized he was making a mistake.

Only hours before our conversation, he called her and together they decided he would move to the UK and they'd be engaged. Tomorrow he will withdraw from his UoW classes and course-correct his journey.

Sometimes you need to travel 3,000 miles in the wrong direction in order to understand where you want to be.
